Givenchy - 165 Bond Street

165 New Bond Street was identified as an ideal location for the first Givenchy flagship store in England. Blair Associates Architecture Ltd combined two eighteenth century listed properties to form the store and working with interior and fashion designers to develop the haute couture. The flagship store design incorporates some of the original eighteenth century features of the two buildings that have been converted into the store alongside striking contemporary schemes like the pink tiled accessory room, glossy red stairwell leading to evening wear, the Carlo Scarpa style terrazzo and cherry wood gallery joining the key spaces of the store. Its bold approach neatly blends the clean but feminine look of some of Givenchy’s early work, such as his design created for Audrey Hepburn and the darker, more aesthetic the house is known for today.
