Berluti - 43 Conduit Street

Berluti was established in 1895, historically known for creating shoes unique to the customer. Andy Warhol, a great client, Berluti understood immediately that this was an uncommon element which made his pair of shoes completely unique. He loved the surreal nature, that the shoes could be tinted in any colour the client wished. Other great lovers of Berluti shoes was Frank Sinatra. Blair Associates Architecture completely refurbished 43 Conduit Street including basement works to provide a dry and environmentally controlled basement for these high quality haute couture shoes. Blair Associates also worked with artists and interior designers to create a new interior ground floor and first floor, the second floor would be further shoe storage and tinting laboratory with administration on the upper floors. The full refurbishment included re-roofing, major repairs to structural fabric, enforcement of bressumer beams and underpinning foundations providing longevity to this grade II listed building and a working home for the famous Berluti shoe store.
