Halcyon gallery
Blair Associates Architecture Ltd are involved in a number of Art Galleries for private collectors and gallery design exhibiting contemporary arts procurement by art lovers around the world.
Blair Associates Architecture Ltd have been involved with a number of private galleries and public galleries. Private galleries cannot be presented for security and privacy purposes. However, a recently completed gallery for Sprueth Magers at 7-7A Grafton Street required the full refurbishment of the Grade II Robert Taylor building, which included the removal of a mezzanine floor at basement level to create the original double height space for exhibits of sculpture and individual art pieces. Each floor was painstakingly refurbished including reinforcing bressumer beams and reinstating original Pine flooring and reinstatement of original walls making a good lime plaster and refurbishing some of the Victorian later editions. The end result was a gallery which was previously occupied by Sprueth Magers now provided high quality space which not only is more authentic to the original building following its restoration but also more useful as a gallery exhibiting large contemporary pieces.
Blair Associates Architecture Ltd were commissioned by the Halcyon Gallery at Harrods. Blair Associates Architecture Ltd worked closely with the gallery to create gallery space which is attractive and appealing to the clientele of Harrods. The gallery is domestically friendly but with an overriding feel of modern gallery space using knotless Oak flooring with white walls suspended from the floor with carefully chosen lighting. This provides a high quality gallery commensurate with the high quality artists exhibited, including artists such as, Andy Warhol, Chihuly, Lorenzo Quinn and Bob Dylan. To quote the Halcyon Gallery, “we are delighted to announce a new partnership with Harrods, the world’s most iconic luxury department store. Art at Harrods has been created to showcase the finest examples of modern contemporary and fine art.” This is the first time that Harrods has engaged in an exclusive and collaborative partnership with an Art Gallery.
